Welcome!
My name is Christine and I am a Registered Psychotherapist practicing in London, Ontario.
I have a special interest in working with trauma where we use an integrated "Trauma-Informed CBT" approach to help you learn to regulate your emotions, explore your narrative, identify irrational thought processes, reduce avoidance, face your fears through exposure interventions, and reconnect with others. If you are willing, we will go into those dark places together to sort out the jumble of overwhelming thoughts and feelings that you may be experiencing. Your therapy will be primarily led by you with some guided structure from me. I place a strong value on educating my clients on the science and research related to their experiences. The goal is to help you increase self-awareness and understanding, gain confidence, and reduce the effects of your past.
I am also experienced in working with suicidal ideation, self-harm, anxiety, depression, grief, and ADHD - particularly with teens and young adults. This may include bullying, issues stemming from childhood (including abuse and insecure attachments), stress about school and friends, procrastination, low motivation, disconnection with your parents or others, loneliness, work-related issues and much more. Being a teenager and adulting in today's society is NOT easy, and I am committed to going at your own pace and being there for you through all the difficulties.
