Walk & Talk Therapy
What is Walk & Talk Therapy?
Walk & Talk Therapy refers to psychotherapy sessions that take place outside of the therapy office and involve walking or sitting in an outdoor location, such as a nature trail or public greenspace. You set the pace. I have the same approach to Walk & Talk Therapy as I do with regular in-office or video sessions. You can expect introspective questions, opportunities to reflect and gain insight, all with the added benefits of nature, movement and a change of scenery.

Where do sessions take place?
The chosen routes are not far from the office. We will meet at the start of the route instead of at the office. All of the paths are flat and accessible to people of varying abilities. Appointments will be help during the daytime only.
Who is a good fit for walk and talk therapy?
This service is for clients who feel more comfortable to discuss their problems while strolling in a nature environment. All clients wishing to engage in Walk & Talk Therapy will start with an assessment session in office where we will discuss if this type of therapy will work well for your therapy goals.
What about the weather?
I personally love being outdoors in all weather, so I am up for continuing our walk in rain, shine, or snow! However, we will keep an eye on the weather and you are always welcome to contact me within considerable notice to switch to in office or online instead. If the weather is dangerous, such as smoke, frost bite risk, or a heat wave, we will also switch to in office or online.
How does confidentiality work?
Being out in public, by nature, does come with some risks to your privacy. At times, the therapist and client may be in the vicinity of people (known or not) who may hear incidental parts of the conversation. Thus, the therapist will, to the fullest extent possible in this public setting, take reasonable caution to protect and maintain private information and preserve confidentiality. We’ll plan together, in advance, for how to manage these situations.
